What's Next?

So... I'm graduating highschool and all I keep hearing about are "options"?

What choice do I make?

Where do I go?

What's next ... for ME?

We want to help you make the best decision for YOUR life!  So below, we've listed the options that LYM proudly endorses for Louisiana students...

Many of you are headed to a secular university somewhere here in Louisiana because you earned TOPS, or because of a certain degree you're after, or because you can live at home & get free home-cooked meals and laundry service.  We urge you to get involved with the Chi Alpha group located on the campus of the university here in the state that you plan to attend & also get plugged in to a local Assemblies of God church in that area so that you can continue growing in your relationship with the Lord.  If you plan to attend one of these universities, have your youth pastor call or email the Chi Alpha director at that school to get you connected with them before you even set foot on the campus.

Here are the universities in Louisiana that currently have active Chi Alpha chapters:

For a very select number of high school graduates who feel called directly to youth ministry--- and more specifically to youth ministry in Louisiana--- LYM is launching the LYM Apprenticeship in the fall of 2009.

The LYM Apprenticeship is a 2-year Youth Ministry training program in which students will serve with the LYM administrative team & establish a youth ministry at a local church in the first year, then spread across the state in the second year to each establish 2 youth groups at churches in close proximity to each other.

More details regarding this special opportunity are located on the LYM Apprenticeship page on this website.

Simply click on the LYM Apprenticeship button on the menu on the left-hand side of this page to find out more details about how you can be a part of developing the future of youth ministries in Louisiana!

If you're not headed to the secular university or not specifically to youth ministry in Louisiana, but perhaps you feel like God is directly speaking to you about entering full-time vocational ministry in the church(pastor, associate pastor, youth pastor, children's pastor, worship leader, Christian psychologist, ministry spouse), then you may want to consider attending SAGU or one of the other 19 Bible Colleges/Universities that the Assemblies of God offers.

Waxahachie, Texas

Or perhaps you feel like God is calling you to some intense, focused discipleship before moving on with the rest of your life's vocational training.  If so, you may want to look into spending a year or two with one of the 4 Master's Commission groups here in LA.  They offer straightforward, in-your-face, internship-type settings with some educational components & a ton of practical ministry experience.

And they are:
